TALARIA

Project Description

Talaria is a Type 3/1 luxurious apartment complex in Burbank, CA, comprising of 245 units. The building features a Whole Foods on the ground floor and offers three levels of subterranean parking. The extensive list of amenities includes three courtyards with an infinity pool, spa, custom fireplaces, BBQs, and cabanas. Additionally, Talaria provides a rooftop deck, residential lounge, fitness facilities, sauna, hair salon, massage rooms, a theater room, and a dedicated dog park for residents to enjoy.

Work Experience

Talaria was a difficult project. It was my first experience as an assistant superintendent. Before the footings were even poured, our team had begun receiving architectural bulletins leading to owner-caused delays. When we reached the podium, our team did not have answers on how to frame over the 10-foot expansion joints. This caused the project to be piecemealed out to subcontractors throughout construction. The project spiraled out of control, and it took a monumental effort to regain control of the project.

The sheer number of problems plaguing the project might have been daunting to some, but I took this as an opportunity to get what must’ve been five projects’ worth of problem-solving under my belt.  I embraced every issue that came my way. I was eager to tackle challenges head-on and learn. I led by example. On this job I learned how to work under pressure, put together a plan and execute.

This project is one of my most cherished experiences. It is where I discovered what I was truly capable of, and it is also why I am so passionate about the services that Corollary offers.
